SALLY TUTTLE

Oh, Sally Tuttle!
Oh, what a girl!

Laughs in the sunshine, smiles at the world.
Chirps 'n' chats wif chickies, NPR frames her views.
Shops for online bargains for her snappy shoes.

What is she gonna do?
What will she say to you?
Let's watch her think it thru.

Does she know or does a dumpling need to be told?
Smoochable from lid to toe.
Sniffs a rose...blows her nose...off she goes.

Oh, Sally Tuttle,
What shall it be?
Home baked vegan cookies and minty herbal tea?
Stroll down to Dumbo, a bench by the sea,
The filthy dark east river flows on like you and me:

Uncertain and indirect,
Who knows what to expect?
Undercurrents of circumspect,

I concede...a timeless quality...wide-eyed honesty.
Prudent bean...quite serene...doesn't preen.

Now that she's thought it thru:
Can she see how readily captured are we,
Such delicate beauty.
Cool 'n' keen…cute 'n' lean...pretty queen.
